Twitter is most certainly a sensation – is it a fad? Who knows… but it’s certainly intriguing. So today, we’re going to be looking at Twitter. We’re not going to cover what it is or what it does – there’s plenty of that out there. Today, we’re going to dive deeper into the Twitterverse. Yes, there’s a whole universe out there…

From Tippingpoint Labs in Boston, Massachusetts, I’m Andrew Davis, and this the very first podcast we’ve created for ourselves. It’s so new we don’t yet have a catchy name for it, in fact.

We here at Tippingpoint Labs have always envisioned creating a series of monthly podcasts: one short one each week, focusing on one theme for the entire month; each week, we’ll bring you a new story on that very same theme. And at the end of the month, we’ll repackage the month’s series into a half-hour show – with some new insight and updates. We invite you to consume the podcast however you want – small chunks or one big dump – it’s up to you…

Now, if you’re familiar with NPR’s This American Life, hosted by Ira Glass, great. I’m sure you’re thinking this podcast is just a rip off of Ira’s show – well, you’re right. Except… we’ve got a really creative twist. We’re focusing completely in the new media space. All of our themes will focus on creating or distributing content online.

And if you’re not familiar with This American Life – well, hopefully you think we’re just really smart.

So, this month’s theme…

About the author

Andrew Davis -

In 2002, Andrew founded Tippingpoint Labs with journalist James Cosco. Since then, he's spent countless hours exploring the online universe and building a methodological approach to developing digital strategies that drive revenue or reduce costs.

Andrew's always asking big questions and analyzing data to understand markets, online forces and even business models. Andrew's research has resulted in the creation of innovative online metrics including Online Brand Value and Category Brand Value, eye-opening graphical representations of website evolution through the New Media Life Cycle and even using online data to predict offline revenue.

When he's not surfing the web, Andrew's traveling the globe speaking to a wide-variety of audiences about everything from social media to the future of print. Andrew is a frequent contributor to the Tippingpoint Labs website and has been creating valuable content since the early 1990s for The Jim Henson Company, CNN, The Today Show and MTV.

He's contributed to a book of short stories, called The Way Things Were and produced and co-wrote Roadside Ambition a documentary film about one small town with two huge balls.

"In a world where content is consumed as rapidly as it's created, companies need to develop a sound strategy to creating valuable online experiences that can, and should, be leveraged enterprise-wide. There is a content solution to every business challenge."
